Andre Rieu first saw the light of day on October 1, 1949, in a very old town, dating back to Roman times, called Maastricht, in the Netherlands. He was a very quick witted child and started learning the violin when he was only five years old. He continued his studies at the Conservatorium, in Maastricht and Liege's Conservatoire Royal. He was mesmerised by orchestras. For three years in the 70s he studied under luminaries, such as Andre Gertler, at the Brussels Music Academy. While there he carried off the 'Premier Prix'.

The Families of Flight 93 has entered into a formal contract with PBS Coals, Inc. for purchase of approximately 932 acres representing the largest single land tract, approximately 75 per cent of the area, designated for the permanent Flight 93 National Memorial. Formal closing of the transaction is expected within 60 days. The acreage includes approximately 27 acres of land that are being donated by PBS to the Families.
