Swinging Jazz and Brass Orchestras Accompanied by Hundreds of Kazoos Played by the Public to Perform in Times Square

(PRWEB) October 16, 2007 -- To kick off the celebrations of its 90th Anniversary, Manhattan School of Music will stage a spectacular public concert by its Concert Jazz Orchestra and Brass Ensemble on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 10-11 a.m. on Military Island, Times Square, at the intersection of Broadway and 7th Avenue between 43rd and 44th Streets, Manhattan.

Several hundreds of kazoos will be given out to the public to accompany the performers in their renditions of famous New York-themed songs.

Later that day, the celebration will be taken to the heart of Harlem for a concert of the Afro Cuban Jazz Band with multiple Grammy-Award nominee Bobby Sanabria, at 125th street and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard, at 5-6 p.m.

Manhattan School of Music (MSM) is one of the leading conservatories in the world as well as the country?s largest conservatory offering both classical and jazz training. Its students hail from all over the world, drawn by the highest quality musical programs and the faculty, which includes some of world?s best-known artists.
