Madison, WI (PRWEB) October 19, 2006 -- Scott Geller, President of Cow Country Enterprises, an International company based in Appleton, WI., joined the ranks of Major Donors in support of the 2006 Wisconsin Public Television Auction, helping net over $500,000.
PBS, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, is a non–profit media enterprise owned and operated by the nation's 348 public television stations. A trusted community resource, PBS uses the power of noncommercial television, the Internet and other media to enrich the lives of all Americans through quality programs and education services that inform, inspire and delight. Available to 99 percent of American homes with televisions and to an increasing number of digital multimedia households, PBS serves nearly 90 million people each week.
Locally, Wisconsin PBS strives to enrich, educate and entertain diverse audiences of children and adults through the innovative use of television production and broadcasting, other communication technologies and community outreach. "I appreciate that Wisconsin Public Television provides access to local and national content, extending its reach and impact in all the communities they serve," said Geller.
"Scott and his company have been long time supporters and friends of PBS. Their extremely generous donation helped the Friends of Wisconsin Public Television enjoy one of the most successful Auctions in recent years. This tremendous achievement is a credit to the generous support of donors like Scott, and the thousands of volunteers that make the Wisconsin PBS Auction happen," stated Benjamin White of PBS.
PBS is a consistent leader in television's most prestigious competitions. In 2006, for the ninth consecutive year, PBS won more Daytime Emmys for children's programming than all broadcast and cable networks. PBS also continued to dominate the News & Documentary Emmys (2006) for the sixth year in a row, winning five awards.
